Italy’s Strong Contingent Ready for 2024 Judo World Championships in Abu Dhabi

Just a few more days of waiting and then the spotlight will turn on for the 2024 Judo World Championships, scheduled from 19 to 24 May in Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates.

Italy presents itself with a very strong group of athletes. The athlete Savita Russo, born in 2005 (-63kg category) of the Judo Club Koizumi Ecodep Scicli will be in the Italian national team. Great satisfaction for the result achieved by Maestro Maurizio Pelligra.

Mayor Mario Marino wished the athlete who took his first steps in the Scicli club good luck.

The 2024 World Judo Championships will take place from 19 to 24 May at the Mubadala Arena in Abu Dhabi, where 676 judokas representing 109 nations are expected to attend.

Among the 18 Italian judokas called up, three are Sicilian: in addition to Savita Russo, Angelo Pantano and Elios Manzi.

Among the technicians of the national technical direction, the Sicilian master Corrado Bongiorno.
