According to this, Hamraoui was dragged out of the car by two masked men and attacked with a metal bar. She was beaten on the legs and hands. Diallo is said to have sat as a passenger in the car.
The case brings back memories of one of the most spectacular sports scandals: In 1994, the American figure skater Nancy Kerrigan was injured in her knee by an assassin with an iron bar. The client was Jeff Gillooly, the husband of Kerrigan’s fiercest rival Tonya Harding at the time.
It is not yet clear whether Diallo is behind the attack on Hamraoui. There is no charge. PSG condemned the attack “strongly” and referred to the ongoing investigation. German national player Sara Däbritz is also under contract with PSG.
