Andrea Dovizioso’s return to MotoGP has not been easy, but there is a high level of confidence for the 2022 season.
The reason is, he will ride a factory Yamaha YZR-M1 which is more competitive than this year where he uses the 2019 prototype with several updates.
Apart from riding a motorcycle that is two years old, Dovi has had the problem of adapting to something completely different from Ducati.
After years of riding the Desmosedici GP, it wasn’t easy to fit right in with a new bike.
Moreover, the Desmosedici GP and YZR-M1 have opposite characters.
Dovizioso ended up riding a 2022 Yamaha M1 in the MotoGP test at Jerez, thus starting from the same base as his factory team mates.
Compared to Fabio Quartararo, Dovi still can’t take advantage of the Yamaha motorcycle.
