After her 7th place at the French senior championships, Victoria Samie ambitious at the national tournament in Limoges

She didn’t feel capable of it. And yet… Two weeks ago, Victoria Samie (19 years old, -78 kg) finished seventh in the French championships won by 2016 Olympic vice-champion Audrey Tcheuméo. “It was a crazy thing,” comments the member of the Alliance Judo Limoges. I approached this competition with nothing to lose, without any pressure since I was a junior and I really enjoyed my day ”.

The one who finished 3rd in the Cadet French Cup in 2019 achieved one of the best performances of her career as she struggled to find a click. “This result made me want to work even more,” assures the young woman trained in Saint-Yrieix-la-Perche. It showed me what the high level was and it really motivated me ”.

Helped by Fanny Posvite

That day, Victoria was accompanied by a certain Fanny Posvite with whom she shares the same route (Saint-Yrieix, Pôle Espoirs de Limoges, AJL) and the same category (-78 kg). “Fanny, who is an inspiration, was really there for me and she did it naturally,” she enthuses. She made me work on my breathing, she gave me advice on my opponents, she encouraged me, etc. ”.

Fanny Posvite: “I no longer trust”

His main goal for the season? “Become champion of France juniors”. She decided to achieve this by staying at the Pôle Espoirs de Limoges while most of her opponents play in Pôle France or even at INSEP. “Here, I have Adil (Fikri), Jason (Guillot) and Adrien (Lacombe) accompanying me, she explains. A record edition

After two years of absence, the national tournament in Limoges is back with more than 500 entered in juniors this Saturday and as many this Sunday in cadets. There will therefore be quantity with a thousand judokas (a record!) From all over France but also quality with future champions (double Olympic champion Clarisse Agbegnenou won this event). Faced with this fierce competition, the Limousins ​​will be keen to obtain highly coveted medals.
