The young golfer Henry Dao, from La Prairie, received a $ 2,000 scholarship for his academic excellence during the 8th edition of the Golf Québec / Foundation for Athletic Excellence (FAEQ) scholarship program.

The 14-year-old golfer, a member of the Richelieu Valley club, climbed to the top of the Golf Québec boys order of merit ranking in the bantam category. He also finished 5th at the Provincial Junior Championship and 2nd at the Graham Cooke Junior Invitational in the same category this summer.

The third secondary student in the international education program at Collège Charles-Lemoyne in Sainte-Catherine maintained an academic average of 82% in second secondary.

Henry Dao has not yet decided on his future field of study, but he wants to combine sport and studies at a University of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) in the United States.

The Golf Québec / FAEQ scholarship program, established in 2014, stems from the desire of the two organizations to help financially and better supervise young golfers, while making them aware of the pursuit and success of studies at the same time. of their sports career.
