Heidenheim shocks Düsseldorf, Regensburg replaces victory
Jahn Regensburg continues to establish himself in the top group. Thanks to their jokers, the Upper Palatinate won against Dresden. Fortuna Düsseldorf conceded another home defeat in stoppage time and arrived in the relegation battle.
Dhe surprise team Jahn Regensburg is stubbornly staying in the top group of the second division. The Upper Palatinate won 3-1 (1-0) against Dynamo Dresden on Friday evening and climbed to second place for the time being.
Benedikt Saller (34th), Kaan Caliskaner (80th) and Charalambos Makridis (82nd) shot the Jahn to victory in front of 3418 spectators. Christoph Daferner (47th) scored for the Saxons. For Regensburg it was the first success in the ninth second division duel with the Saxons. Dresden remains in the lower third of the table after the ninth loss of the season.

The first half clearly belonged to the home side. Leon Guwara (12th) and left winger Sarpreet Singh (16/26) missed an early preliminary decision despite great chances. Finally, Saller rewarded the superior Regensburg with a direct shot from around ten meters.
After the break, the self-sacrificing fighting guests initially seemed much more alert. Daferner headed a well-deserved compensation after a cross from Morris Schröter, which Jahn coach Mersad Selimbegovic did not want to be satisfied with. He switched the offensive forces Caliskaner and Makridis, who immediately fulfilled their joker job.

Düsseldorf loses in stoppage time
In the second game of the evening, 1. FC Heidenheim celebrated stoppage time. It was the first away win after three defeats in a row in a foreign place. The team from Heidenheim won 1-0 (0-0) against Fortuna Düsseldorf on Friday evening thanks to Robert Leipertz’s late goal and improved to sixth place in the table with 24 points for the time being.
Düsseldorf, on the other hand, missed the connection to the midfield in front of 13,873 spectators and, as twelfth in the table, are now faced with the relegation battle.
In a balanced first half, Fortuna dominated the early stages of the game, but without seriously threatening goals. The offensive actions appeared mostly discouraged and inconsistent. Heidenheim began to dominate.
After the break, a similar picture emerged. At first it was the Düsseldorfers who pushed for the Heidenheimer Tor, but remained too harmless. Instead, Heidenheim set the decisive pinprick in stoppage time with a successful counterattack. Marnon Busch prevailed on the right side, left Leonardo Koutris behind and found Leipertz in the middle, who only has to push into the empty goal.
