Xbox has announced a global partnership with Adidas to bring your first console-inspired sneakers to life. This collaboration is part of the great celebration for the first 20 years of Xbox, and is just the beginning of everything to come, according to the company.
Adidas Originals by Xbox collaboration resulted in exclusive sneakers Xbox 20th Forum Tech, with translucent green accents inspired by the special edition of the original Xbox for the release of ‘Halo: Combat Evolved’ in 2001, marking the first generation of gaming from Microsoft.
James Monosmith, Xbox Director of Sales and Marketing, explains:
The Adidas Forum Tech design balances nostalgia while embracing modern technology and is symbolic of how we view our own Xbox history, celebrating the past 20 years and looking forward to the limitless future of gaming.
More Xbox tennis on the way
According to Xbox, this is just the beginning of their collaboration with Adidas. In coming months More tennis styles inspired by past and present generations of the Xbox console will be released, all part of its 20-year celebration, including the first model that will be available for purchase by fans.
This collaboration marks the global launch of the program “Always played in. Never played out”, which will celebrate popular gaming eras of the last 20 years, through sports, gaming and lifestyle. As Xbox explains, “Just as games are meant to be played, shoes are meant to be worn, from concrete to the couch and beyond.”.
In this way, the Xbox Forum Tech, and later models, will not be for sale but will be special and limited releases only available to win in various dynamics, Xbox explains.
