Werne. The two district champions Jule Rüschenschmidt and Lea Konert from TV Werne landed on the podium in their respective weight classes at the West German U15 Championships in Judo in Lippstadt.
Jule Rüschenschmidt won confidently at the start. After only a few seconds she won the second fight with an uchi-mata. In the third and fourth fight, she had to admit defeat to the two opponents, but could be happy about the bronze medal.
Lea Konert also started the competition with a sovereign victory. She won the second fight with a strong physical performance in the Golden Score. In the final, she was defeated by her opponent from Düsseldorf and thus won the silver medal.
Both athletes from TV Werne impressively demonstrated on this day that they could not be beaten down by severely restricted training conditions due to the pandemic. They seamlessly continued their good performance from the beginning of 2020.
