On Tuesday, October 19, 2021, after the successful 1st edition of the Outdoor Play Days in which about 300 children took part, this great initiative was followed up and a 2nd edition was organized in which about 100 children participated. Unfortunately, the weather gods were a little less kind to us this time, but that didn’t spoil the fun.
It was a bit of improvisation and in the end the children all had a beautiful, fun and sporty day. This day was free for all children from the neighbourhood, associations, schools, childcare, etc. and suitable for children from 4 to 14 years old. The outdoor play day is organized on the basis of the sports agreement: ‘Wassenaar in Beweging’ in collaboration with W-Boxing, football association Blauw-Zwart, Jeugd & Jeugdwerk Wassenaar and Norlandia Kinderopvang BV. have educational and meaningful leisure activities.
The follow-up goal of this trajectory is to have these kinds of days return more often during 2022, whereby we want to further optimize the connection with other organisations, associations and schools in the area in order to introduce as many children as possible to fun and innovative sports. and play activities, but also to increase the reach of children in Wassenaar. There were also 2 make-up artists and it was busy sticking glitter tattoos. In the afternoon they went to the gym (due to the persistent bad weather) where bamboo sticks, bungee jump trampoline and football in a panna cage were on the program. Other activities such as badminton and hockey were also accessible. In the afternoon W-Boxing also provided 2 cool boxing clinics for different ages, which were undergone with enthusiasm. We look back on a fun and successful day and on to the 3rd edition!
