An agonized Arnaut Danjuma’s goal in the 95th minute prevented Cádiz from taking the triumph of La Cerámica, since it allowed Villarreal to neutralize the triplet of ‘Choco Lozano’, who in the first stages of the second half had put the 1-3 on the scoreboard, which leaves both teams one more day without knowing the victory

Two very different styles of games were measured on the La Cerámica lawn and it was Cádiz’s vertical football that clearly prevailed during the first half hour of play, partly thanks to Villarreal’s unusual imprecise football, with numerous losses in his ball out.

In one of them, Cádiz captain Álex took advantage of a recovery in the spinal cord to surprise with a pass to the far post where Lozano He entered alone and his cross shot was 0-1.

The creative men of Villlarreal were very erratic and his team paid for it against a very orderly Cádiz with two lines of fourth men very close together that made the local game difficult and that looked for speed in the exit.

After half an hour of play, Villarreal reacted after the referee canceled two goals in just one minute, first by a millimeter offside of the Dutch Danjuma, and then by some hands of Paco Alcácer.

Unai Emery’s men were enraged with these two actions and locked up Cádiz, achieving the equalizer in the 42nd minute, after a header from international defender Pau Torres after a corner kick. It seemed that both teams were going to head towards the changing rooms with the tables on the scoreboard, but a mischievous play by Fali surprised the local defense and Lozano put Cádiz ahead again in the extension time.

Maximum efficiency in the ranks of the team led by Álvaro Cervera, two clear chances and two goals that ended their scoring drought, since Cádiz had only scored one goal in the last five games.

Villarreal went all out at the resumption of the game and Danjuma, the best of the locals, put Argentine goalkeeper Ledesma to the test twice, who showed off to avoid the equalizer. When the local parish suspected that the tie was about to fall, it was 1-3, after a great counterattack led by Sobrino that Lozano culminated to sign his first triplet in the First Division.

Both technicians they quickly moved their respective benches, one to consolidate his advantage and another to seek the reaction of his team. Villarreal turned desperately in search of a second goal that would get him into the game and Chukwueze was about to get it but the crossbar repelled his shot.

Cádiz endured the downpour and looked for new counterattacks to sentence the game and again Lozano was able to score the fourth but Asenjo thwarted the solo arrival of the Honduran who was also injured in the race and had to be substituted.

Villarreal did not lose faith and continued hitting on Ledesma’s goal. The newcomer Dia rewarded the local effort and with his goal he cut differences ten minutes from the end, which raised the tension and emotion of the clash in its final stretch. Cádiz, too sunk in their area, saw how in the last minute of the game victory slipped away with Danjuma’s goal.
