Vandenbempt sees top club performing poorly again: “Traditional power failure”

It was again a very interesting football weekend on the Belgian fields. And there was another strange match.

KAS Eupen finally beat KRC Genk and that didn’t seem to happen a few minutes before the end.

But Genk gave it away again with one man more, so that it had already had sudden fainting spells against Union and Antwerp.

power failure

“Ultimately, Eupen benefited from what is gradually becoming a traditional power outage in Genk’s heads,” said Vandenbempt in his analysis at sporza.

“It is a horror week for KRC Genk. On Thursday there was the sobering 0-3 defeat against Dinamo Zagreb. That is not in line with the towering ambitions that Genk also has in Europe. And on Sunday the superfluous slip in Eupen.”
