The hooligans disrupted the match between the two leading units of the Slovak league after less than a quarter of an hour. Supporters of both teams broke into the playing area and there was violence. After the intervention of the organizing service, the fans managed to get back, but the riots continued in the stands.

The heavily-clothed people then evacuated the visiting supporters sector. Referee Filip Glova first interrupted the match in a goalless state and then ended it prematurely after a long forced break.

Based on a report from the delegate, the referee, both clubs and the police, the ULK management decided on a default in favor of Slovan, who bounced back to the second Trnava in the first place on the table by three points. The home team were penalized for not being able to organize the match.

“In the first place, he lost football on Sunday,” the union said in a statement. “We want to apologize for what happened on Sunday to all partners, decent fans and children who saw the negative experience with their own eyes or on television,” she added.

ULK now wants to work with the government to tighten and improve measures to combat hooligans. “Once again, we call for the start of a project to monitor individual fan groups with the aim of a long-term and preventive program,” she said.

“In this particular match, several groups of foreign fans took place on the field. And this can be prevented precisely by the cooperation of the state security forces with clubs and their foreign colleagues, “the union added.

The hooligans, who report to Spartak Trnava and Slovan Bratislava, fought during the league match on the field. The referee duel for the first place in the Slovak league ended prematurely.

According to the ULK, it is also necessary to impose exemplary punishments on rioters for similar incidents. “It’s time to say vigorously not to individuals who ruined the work of clubs, players or football itself last weekend. Today, once again, all those who did not cause the incident were punished to a greater extent, and people who ran onto the playing field will remain unpunished, “she added.
