Topps Launches Series 2 Major League Baseball NFT Series

Topps Company, Inc. has launched its second series of 2021 baseball NFT series through the blockchain protocol Avalanche, which is based on the sold out 2021 Topps series 2 baseball physical products.

Tobin Lent, vice president and global general manager of Topps Digital Sports & Entertainment, said that the MLB NFT series provides an interesting and easy-to-use collection experience for NFT veterans and newcomers.

Series 2 Baseball provides an annual snapshot of the MLB season, and this version captures those memorable moments.

A standard NFT baseball bag with eight cards sells for $15. NFT collectibles can be obtained through toppsnfts.com, and include rarity from ordinary cards to legendary cards. The probability of obtaining a rare card is estimated to be 16.64%.

So far, 25,000 packages have been released.

Although Topps monopolizes the market for MLB NFT cards and bags, as the alliance reached an agreement with sportswear manufacturer Fanatics, it will lose its partnership with MLB in 2026.

Fanatics is expected to take over the MLB NFT competition from then on.
