Special Report / Gold Captain

Last Sunday, September 26, the ninth date of the Women’s Soccer Tournament, organized by the Olavarría Football League. The event took place at the Enrique Stadium in La Quintana de Hinojo. Nicolás Moreno was the referee for the five First Division games, assisted on the wings by Martina Palahy and Jazmín Begue.

Loma Negra managed to beat Blanca Chica’s Tres Hermanos by 1 to 0. Fourteen minutes into the first half, there was a free kick following a foul committed on the edge of the area by Yanina Torres de Loma Negra. The same player was in charge of executing the free kick and with an excellent shot she managed to score the only goal of the game.

Ferroviario de Hinojo defeated Ferro 4 to 0. At nineteen minutes of play, Brisa De Olaso overflowed on the left and put a center back for the entrance of Estefanía Fernández who, with the goalkeeper already defeated, finished off Ferro’s goal, scoring the first goal of the match.

After the game restarted after halftime, before the minute of play, Brisa De Olaso received a pass close to the goal, the ball remained at his feet and pushed it into the goal, converting the second goal for Ferroviario.

Twenty-two minutes into the game, a personal move by Susana Altamirano who settled down and took a strong shot from the right, nothing to do for Ferro’s goalkeeper and it was another goal for Ferroviario de Hinojo.

Twenty-seven minutes into the game, Belén Boyer had a free kick in her favor, placed a very good ball into Ferro’s area and Romina Cebrero managed to connect with a head, scoring another goal for the Hinojenses.

Nicolás Avellaneda beat Luján 2-0. Six minutes into the second half, Daiana Leonardo scored the first goal for Nicolás Avellaneda. The play began with a center from Brisa Chazarreta. Daiana Leonardo finished off the goal, but Yanina Ovejero saved the ball and bounced. Rocío Vivas recovered that ball and looked for the goal again, but a defender from Luján got in the way of her shot. The third ball that remained in the area was again from Daiana Leonardo and this time she did not miss and scored the first goal of the game.

At nineteen minutes of play, Brisa Chazarreta grabbed the ball on the right, faced inwards, went into the heart of the area from where he took a strong shot from the right and scored the second goal for Nicolás Avellaneda.

It was a victory for Nicolás Avellaneda by 2 to 0. If the difference was not more bulky in favor of the girls led by “El Vizcacha” Leonardo, it was because Luján’s goalkeeper, Yanina Ovejero, had a very good performance.

El Fortín defeated Muñoz 2 to 1. At fourteen minutes of play, Micaela Vivas from El Fortín was fouled on the edge of the area on the left and Brenda Leguizamón asked and took charge of that stopped ball. He kicked the free kick and the ball made a perfect trajectory, hitting the goal post against the far post, out of reach of goalkeeper Lorena Frascaroli. It was a great goal for those led by Claudio Pinedo.

Near the end of the match, referee Nicolás Moreno sanctioned a free kick in favor of Muñoz, in an area of great risk for El Fortín. Muñoz took the free kick and goalkeeper Andrea Serris bounced off a ball that didn’t seem complicated. Eliana Delletesse took advantage of the opportunity and sent the ball into the back of El Fortín’s goal.

The tying goal on the hour unleashed a huge celebration in all the Muñoz girls. Those led by Silvio Lobos went crazy with euphoria, knowing that they had drawn a draw from a team that had been undefeated and with a perfect score in seven games. And they had achieved it with an excellent game, with an impeccable defensive approach. El Fortín’s goal had come from a stopped ball. Everything seemed that the game would end with the score tied on one goal. But it was not like that. The story was quite another.

El Fortín served from the middle with a lot of attitude and Brenda Leguizamón unloaded the ball on her right for the ascent of Keyla López who with a lot of character put a cross into Muñoz’s area, where it hurts. Lorena Frascaroli could not control that aerial ball and forward Micaela Vivas took advantage of that insecurity to score the last goal of the game, which meant the victory for her team. The match ended with the winning goal, and it was El Fortín who ended with victory chants, celebrating a much-fought, hard-fought victory. Muñoz’s players couldn’t believe what had just happened to them. They could not assimilate defeat. They had been able to control the game of El Fortín, but in the last ball of the game, they lost control and consequently the game.

Racing beat Pueyrredón 1-0. Twenty-five minutes into the first half came the goal that gave Racing the victory. Lucrecia Wagner was trying to reach Pueyrredón’s goal, when defender Marianela Báez, in an attempt to clear, sent the ball to the back of her own goal in an unfortunate play.

Racing achieved an important victory against Pueyrredón, despite the fact that the winning goal came due to an error in the defense of the girls led by Cristian Macías. Apart from that error, Pueyrredón did not make a bad approach to Racing. Although players like Ihara Arauz or Jaqueline Martín did not have a good game. They were quite at odds in the game.
