The Navarrese Amazon Elena Legarra, 43, has died as a result of the kick accidentally given him by one of his horses, according to the Royal Spanish Equestrian Federation (RFEH). Legarra had been practicing horse riding all his life and had been competing in it since 2003. He had also won national awards in the discipline.
The incident, which is being investigated by the Police, occurred yesterday at the Robledales equestrian center in Zenotz, in the Ultzama Valley, north of Navarra. Legarra was trying to lower one of his horses from the truck where the animals are transported. It was then that he stirred and kicked him in the chest that finally caused his death.
