Everything is ready for the XXXVII edition of the Provincial Sports Awards. The Alicante Provincial Council Auditorium will host the next Monday, October 18 at 8:30 p.m. the Award Gala of these distinctions that recognize the work and effort of the athletes, technicians and clubs of the territory.
The well-known journalist and presenter of Spanish Television Marta Solano will be in charge of conducting this act, which returns after the 2020 stoppage due to the pandemic. In this sense, the deputy responsible for the area, Eduardo Dolon, has highlighted the commitment and dedication of all the candidates “who, in this very complicated time, marked by restrictions due to COVID, have been able to reinvent themselves to adapt to difficulties, demonstrated their love and passion for sport” .
Handball, basketball, soccer, taekwondo cycling, judo, tennis, archery, sailing, swimming, rowing or paddle surfing are some of the disciplines practiced by the candidates who opt for these awards, endowed with 36.400 euros and divided into the categories of Best Male Athlete, Best Female Athlete, Best Promising Athlete, Best Disabled Athlete, Best Technician and Best Club.
The winners will be chosen from among all the nominations submitted since, for the third consecutive year, they have eliminated the previous selection of finalists. The names will be announced, after deliberation by the jury, during the course of the event.
On the other hand, a special mention to the candidacy most voted by the public. For this, the Alicante Provincial Council has enabled the Web page www.premiosdeldeporte.org in which citizens can choose their favorite athlete, coach or club from today.
