The termination of gymnastics trainer Gabriele F. is ineffective. After she had been accused of psychological violence and harassment by athletes, the base manager had fired her.

Dhe gymnastics trainer Gabriele F., who is confronted with accusations of harassment from former protégés, must continue to be employed at the Chemnitz Olympic base. The Labor Court in Chemnitz declared an extraordinary termination on Friday to be ineffective. In the opinion of the board, there were insufficient reasons for the termination.

The base management announced the termination of the 61-year-old at the end of April this year. This was preceded by allegations from former protégés about harassment, psychological violence and drug abuse, among other things. “Ms. F. is entitled to continued employment until the end of the courts,” explained a court spokesman. She could not be released even against her will.

The gymnast had denied the allegations several times. “The relief is great,” said the trainer. It is unclear whether the Olympic base will appeal the first instance judgment. “We’ll wait for the written reasoning for the judgment and then we’ll see what happens next,” said OSP CEO Christian Dahms.
