French tennis pro Jeremy Chardy told the news agency on Thursday AFPthat he won’t play this season because he suffered complications after his corona vaccination. The 34-year-old stated:
“Since I was vaccinated (between the Olympics and the US Open) I’ve had one problem, a series of problems. That’s why I can’t train and I can’t play.”
Since getting his BioNTech / Pfizer vaccination, he has felt pain all over his body as soon as he exerted himself physically. For him, the season was over this year. Chardy also announced that he didn’t know what to do. The problem is that there is no retrospective view of the vaccination. According to the tennis professional’s experience, there are people who have had similar side effects, but the duration of the complications has been very different.
At this point in time, Chardy, currently number 73 in the tennis world rankings, cannot predict when he will return to professional sport. At the moment, he does not even rule out a withdrawal that could take place as early as 2022. He also stated that he prefers to take time to get well again, to be sure that he will not have any more problems in the future:
“I’ll be 35 in February, maybe I’m a little negative at the moment, but it’s the first time I’ve thought that the next season could be my last. I’m thinking about it … It is difficult because I had a lot of fun and wanted to play longer. “
