The Yokozuna Tamanoumi (real name Masao Taniguchi, from Gamagori City, Aichi Prefecture) = 1944-71 = ” It was revealed by the 1st that the “Yokozuna Recommendation Letter” was recently found in Toyokawa City, Aichi Prefecture. The 11th is the anniversary of his death, 50 years after his death. Local officials feel that it is a “valuable discovery in the milestone year.”
There are several sets of make-up mawashi used for yokozuna and yokozuna, but there is only one recommendation letter.
The letter of recommendation given by the Japan Sumo Association was kept at the home of Jun Kawahara (deceased), the eldest son of Teruo Kawahara (deceased), who was an adviser to Tamanoumi in Gamagori when he belonged to the judo club.
