Russell Wilson (Seattle Seahawks) out for four to eight weeks

Last Thursday, during the loss to the Los Angeles Rams (26-17), Russell Wilson, the Seattle Seahawks quarterback, injured his middle finger in his right hand and did not finish the game, which counted for the NFL day five. First announced as a sprain, his injury turned out to be more serious.

According to US media reports, Wilson suffers from a ruptured tendon and underwent surgery. If the Seahawks have not yet communicated, his absence would however be estimated from four to eight weeks. The 32-year-old winner of the Super Bowl in 2014, Russell Wilson had never missed a meeting, in 10 years of career. He will be replaced by Geno Smith, who finished the game against LA.

The San Francisco 49ers were also forced to make a quarterback change, before facing the Arizona Cardinals, the only NFL team still unbeaten, on Sunday. Jimmy Garoppolo, not recovered from his calf injury contracted last weekend, is replaced by Trey Lance, the No. 3 of the last draft. Already come into play twice, it will celebrate its first tenure.
