This is what happened in the head of Evan McPherson when he hit a 49-yard field goal that could have given the victory to his team in overtime. Except that in the real world, the leather hit the flag at the very top of the poles before going too far to the left.
McPherson probably didn’t see any of this, since he was busy celebrating the victory.
