Rams beat Seahawks in divisional duel

After a first half dominated by both defenses, Los Angeles Rams exploded for three touchdowns and took the 26-17 victory over the Seattle Seahawks to clinch second place in the NFC West.

Seahawks’ Quandre Diggs intercepted a pitch from Matthew Stafford (25/37, 365 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) in the end zone just into the second quarter.

Despite getting the ball, the Seahawaks were unable to capitalize on turnover and linebacker Troy Reeder returned the ball to the Rams by intercepting a poorly thrown pass by Russell Wilson.

In the next offensive series Wilson took advantage of a defensive pass interference and two plays later connected with DK Metcalf. on a 19-yard pass to put Seattle ahead on the scoreboard.

The Rams put their first points on the electronic with a field goal from 31 yards from Matt Gay. Before the first half ended, Seahawks kicker Jason Myers missed a 35-yard field goal that skimmed the right post.

The third quarter was excellent for Los Angeles. A 68-yard connection between Stafford and DeSean Jackson helped too much for the Rams will take the lead with a carry from Darrell Henderson. Then they would march 82 yards in just over two minutes and crowned with un touchdown de Stafford a Tyler Higbee.

Aaron Donald has his favorite victim in Wilson. The defensive tackle has sacked the quarterback 14 times. Plus, with his catch tonight, he placed fourth in franchise history in quarterback sacks with 88.5 by beating Leonard Little’s 87.5.

Wilson (11/16, 152 yards, 1 TD, 1 INT) dislocated middle finger of throwing hand and he no longer returned to the game for the fourth quarter.

Geno Smith (10/17, 131, 1 TD, 1 INT) replaced Wilson and he did it in a good way, until he threw a fateful interception before the two-minute break.

After the turnover awarded to Nick Scott, the Rams got three more points for sentence the game with a 47-yard FG.

Whats Next?

The Rams will visit New York to face the Giants in Week 6 and the Seahawks will travel to Pittsburgh to face the Steelers.
