Puerto Plata taekwondo team wins 8 medals in National Championship

EL NUEVO DIARIO, SANTO DOMINGO.- A total of eight medals, three gold, three silver and two bronze, was the result of the participation of the selected Puerto Plata in the National Championship organized by the National Taekwondo Federation and which concluded this Sunday, October 24.

The group of ten athletes that was well trained and led by the master of this martial art, Evelyn Gómez, were measured in a total of twenty provinces and got 8 out of 10 medals. Which represents a historical fact, considering that Puerto Plata did not participate in the event in the last 10 years.

The medals were divided:

1-Abel Rodríguez

Category (Cadet) male from 12 to 14 years old, gold.

2-Eduarfry Ramírez

Category (Superior) male, gold.

3-Claritza González

Category (Superior) female, gold.

4-Railing García Bonilla

Category (Youth) male, silver.

Green Purple and Blue 2nd Place Silver

5-Jesus Alejandro Lantigua

Category (Youth) male, silver.

6-Jazmin Ovalle Ayala

Category (Youth) female, silver.

7-Ramón Ramos

Category (Superior) male, bronze.

8-France Pierre

Individual poomse division

Category (Youth) female, bronze.

The selection had the support and backing of the Ministry of Sports in the person of its provincial director, Vinicio Clase and with the endorsement of the Taekwondo Association of the province.
