Ostapenko wins Moscow WTA doubles tournament with Sinjakov The news

Moscow, Oct. 23, LETA. On Saturday, Alona Ostapenko, the first Latvian women’s tennis racket, celebrated the victory in the final of the doubles competition of the Moscow “WTA 500” tournament in a duet with the doubles Czech Katerina Sinjakova.

In the tournament with the second number, the duo of Latvia and the Czech Republic with the result 6-2, 4-6, 10: 8 beat the Ukrainian Nadja Kičenoka and Raluka Olar from Romania, who were placed in the tournament with the fourth number.

Occasionally, Ostapenko stood out with a good shot on the sideline, the first game was served to Kičenoka, and the Latvian / Czech couple won the second with Ostapenko’s serve.

In the third game, the opponents reached 30: 0, but Ostapenko with Sinjakov won four games in a row, the last one of the Czechs managed to shorten the shot and the Latvian representative stood out with a candle over the opponents, after which the ball flew 3-0.

Sinjakova won the fourth game with an elusive service – 4-0, but the Ukrainian / Romanian duo won the first game in the fifth game – 4-1 in favor of Ostapenko and Sinjakova.

Sinjakova’s elusive serve sealed the victory of the Latvian / Czech pair in the first set – 6-2.

The Romanian / Ukrainian couple started the second set with a defeated game, serving Olara – 1-0.

Olaru and Kičenoka also won the second game. Serving Ostapenko, from 0:30 managed to reach 40:30, but the last two games were not successful – 0-2. The fourth game, lost to the Czech, was lost “dry” – 0-4.

After Sinkajov’s match at the net, the fifth and sixth game “dry” was won by the Czech / Latvian duo – 2-4.

In the ninth game, after Ostapenko’s shot from the line, Olaru didn’t get the ball across, and Ostapenko had the fate of the set when he went to serve. However, without Ostapenko giving up the serve, the Latvian and Czech tennis players won only one game in the game, after Olari’s shot from the line Sinjakova at the net they did not get the ball over the net – 4-6.

Olaru started the superbreak with a serve and a lost point. Ostapenko also did not turn his two serve into a mock point – 1: 2. Kichenoka answered with the same – 3: 2 in favor of Ostapenko and Sinjakova.

Serving the first point, Sinjakova won in the seventh game – 4: 3 in favor of the Czech / Latvian duo. Double mistake Olaru, and already 5: 3. Kichenoka knocked the ball out of the net – 6: 3, excellent serve surrendered Ostapenko – 7: 3.

However, the next four games were won by the Romanian / Ukrainian duo – 7: 7.

Ostapenko and Sinjakova celebrated the victory in Superbreak with 10: 8 by serving Ostapenko and beating Kichenoka.

For the victory in Moscow, Ostapenko scored 470 WTA doubles ranking points.

It has already been reported that in the first round the Latvian / Czech duo defeated the Belarusian Vera Lapko and Lidzija Marozava 6-3, 6-2, in the second round 5-7, 6-3, 11: 9 defeated the Slovak Viktorija Kuzmov and the Russian Alexander Panova, but in the semi-finals with 6-2, 5-7, 10: 2 beat Marie Bouzkov and Luciya Hradecka from the Czech Republic, who were placed in the third number in the tournament.

So far, Ostapenko has celebrated victory in three A-doubles tournaments.

Ostapenko’s partner had won 11 doubles titles during the career of Sinjakov before the Moscow tournament, three of them in the “Grand Slam” competition, and was also in the leading position in doubles. She has achieved her greatest success, including the title of Olympic champion, together with Barbora Krejčīkovs.

It has already been reported that in the single-player tournament, Ostapenko withdrew during the first round of the game, experiencing health problems.

The tournament in Moscow takes place indoors on a hard surface.
