The Mexican Mauricio Astorga, number 766 in the classification of the International Federation (ITF), was provisionally suspended by the Agency for the Integrity of Tennis (ITIA), in charge of following the suspicions of corruption or falsification of results.

Astorga, 30, will not be able to compete or attend any tournament while his case is resolved, on which the ITIA did not make further specifications in a statement in which it announced the sanction.

The case is “pending full consideration of charges against him,” says the body that ensures the cleanliness of tennis.

The suspension went into effect on October 8.

Astorga is ranked 1,550 in the ATP professional rankings, in which he reached the 687 position in April 2013.
