Mazatlan children will represent Mexico in baseball tournament in Costa Rica

A group of children from Mazatlán will be traveling to Costa Rica to represent Mexico in the first International Tournament of the Western Zone of Pony Baseball.

Luis Cornejo Mota, Director of Pony México and part of the organizing committee, explained that the tournament will take place in San José from 01 to 06 November.

He explained that there will be 14 children from the 11 to 12-year-old category who will be representing Mexico: among them, there is a girl pitcher.

He also said that this tournament will be a door for Mexico to participate in more international competitions like this one.

“Let’s hope that this first international tournament is not the first or the first team to go to Costa Rica, possibly next year there will be other tournaments. This is a small step and a door that we are going to open internationally because all children have want to play, we have two years that we do not have baseball childish, “he explained.

In this tournament the attendance of the countries of Mexico, the United States, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Colombia, Honduras, Nicaragua, the Dominican Republic, Panama and the host, Costa Rica has been confirmed.
