On Sunday (5.30 p.m.), Premier League leaders Liverpool receive their runners-up Manchester City in the shock of the 7th day of the English championship. Two days before this highly anticipated meeting, Skyblues coach Josep Guardiola paid tribute to his opponent Jürgen Klopp.

“He helped me. He and his teams helped me to become a better coach, believes the Spanish technician. He pushed me to reach another level, to think and to prove myself. That’s the reason. why we are still in this profession. Some coaches challenge you and make you move forward. It was the case in Germany and it still is in England for several years. It is positive because our two teams have the same idea : to score goals.”

The rivalry between Guardiola and Klopp began in Germany, when they were on the bench for Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund respectively, before continuing in England since 2016.
