Malaysian Tze Yong Ng wins Belgian International badminton…

Malaysian Tze Yong Ng (BWF-74) won the Belgian International badminton on Saturday in the SportOase in Leuven. In the final he defeated Indian Ajay Jayaram (BWF-63) 21-14 twice.

Maxime Moreels (BWF-67), the only Belgian on the main draw, had to retire injured in the first round.

In the women’s competition, Japan’s Riko Gunji (BWF-213) took the title by beating Taiwanese Wen Chi Hsu 12-21, 21-16 and 23-21. Clara Lassaux (BWF-163) went out 21-17 and 21-9 in the first round against Indian Aakarshi Kashyap (BWF-83).

The Belgians were also unsuccessful in the doubles. Neither Freek Golinski and Jona Van Nieuwkerke (men’s doubles), nor Lise Jaques and Flore Vandenhoucke (women’s doubles), nor Lise Jaques et and Jona Van Nieuwkerke (mixed doubles) managed to win a match.
