While the NBA asks its members to be immunized against covid-19, the Brooklyn star categorically refuses to do so. And this, while New York City prohibits unvaccinated players from playing at home.

Results, he could well lose a colossal sum because of his decision… Nonetheless, this does not seem to concern the Net any more, apparently unwilling to change its mind. Instead, he remains very active on social networks, and has just dropped a post there that should not go unnoticed:

For those who do not have the reference, the GIF used by the champion 2016 refers to the animated series Avatar: The Last Airbender, broadcast in France between 2005 and 2006. The main character, a young boy named Ang, discovers that he is a mystical being endowed with overpowering powers, but that he has yet to learn to master them.
This is precisely what Irving seems to be referring to with his post. While many are those who get involved in defending social causes, in particular to raise awareness about vaccination, the leader believes that those who are opposed to it do not yet have this same reflex. Being himself vice-president of the players’ union, he hopes to reach out to those who think like him.
And when we hear some NBA athletes are unhappy with the sanitary measures, we say to ourselves that it could well be successful.
