Doors Open St. Marys – Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum

St. Marys Open House

On Saturday, October 16, even residents and visitors can experience, or rediscover, the impressive architectural history of St. Marys for free.

Thanks to the idea of the Ontario Heritage Trust, Doors Open literally opens doors to rarely seen buildings for people to admire and appreciate. This year the event is in person.

“We look forward to welcoming visitors to our historic buildings,” said Amy Cubberley, Director of Cultural Services for the Town of St. Marys. “As most of the buildings were closed or had limited access for the past eighteen months, this event is the perfect time to reconnect with our heritage. “

From 10:00 am to 4:00 pm, you can visit inside nine locations, including churches, municipal offices, Broken Rail Brewing, and the Canadian Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum. To enter the museum, one would have to wear a mask, pass a drug test and practice physical distancing. We will have capacity limits.

There are also three outdoor sites: the Grand Trunk Trestle Bridge, St. Marys Cemetery and the St. Marys Heritage Conservation District (downtown).

Participants can explore each site as they wish and visit as many as they wish. A guide to all sites will be available on the free Driftscape app. Hard copies of the guide are available for download below as well as the same day at the information tent located at Town Hall.

Information from each site is available on the Doors Open website.
