Deni Avdija returns to the field after a long recovery from the injury

After six months of painstaking recovery work from his right ankle fracture, Deni Avdija, choice of the first round of Washington Wizards in the 2020 draft, he made his return to live gameplay on Saturday night against the New York Knicks.

It was only 16 minutes, in which the Israeli ex-Maccabi scored four points, took three rebounds and served an assist. The box score might not say much about the experience, but for Avdija it was a long-awaited moment to get back to what she does best.

“I missed basketball. I missed being on the court, on the NBA court,” Avdija said in the post-friendly interview. “I don’t take anything for granted. I enjoy every moment, I enjoy being there with my teammates, the fans, the coaches and we hope to have fun this season.”
