Spanish Basketball Team to Face Dominican Republic in Alicante as Preparation for Pre-Olympic Tournament

The Spanish basketball team will face the Dominican Republic in Alicante, next June 28in preparation for the Pre-Olympic Tournament that will be held in Valencia.

The Pedro Ferrándiz pavilion will host the match between Spain and the Caribbean team, which will be officially presented next Tuesday in an event that will take place at 1:30 p.m. in the Blue Room of the Alicante City Council.

The Spanish basketball team will return to Alicante a year later after having carried out several training sessions in 2023 to prepare for the last two qualifying matches for the 2023 World Cup.

A place for Paris

With this match, the team led by Sergio Scariolo will adjust the last details before traveling to Valencia to compete in the Pre-Olympic Tournament and fight for a place in the next Olympic Games in Paris.

The Spanish men’s basketball team will share a group with Lebanon and Angola, while Finland, Poland and the Bahamas will compete in the other.

The first two from each of the groups will advance to a semi-final match, from which the two finalists will emerge who will fight for the only place at stake.
