The 1 euro ‘fine’ advocated by the cycling union is the least of the worries for the woman who caused a massive crash in the first stage of the Tour de France. The French Public Prosecution Service demanded a four-month suspended prison sentence on Thursday.
The 31-year-old woman was charged by cycling union CPA for causing a crash involving about 50 riders. Just over forty kilometers from the finish, she had stepped onto the road with a cardboard sign greeting her grandparents: ‘Allez Opi Omi’.
