Danish Players Support Indonesia in Thomas Cup Final

Jakarta, CNN Indonesia —

One of the Danish players, Hans-Kristian Vittinghus, supported Indonesia to achieve glory in the final Thomas Cup 2021 (Thomas Cup 2020) against China.

Vittinghus who was placed as the third single or fifth party in the semifinal match did not play against Shesar Hiren Rhustavito because Indonesia had already secured victory in the fourth match.

The player who helped Denmark beat Indonesia in the 2016 Thomas Cup final congratulated the Red and White team while giving encouragement for the final match.

“A difficult day, but Indonesia are the better team. Everyone in our team has given everything, no one is to blame, but we really hope for more this week.”

“Good luck in the final to Indonesia and thank you for all the love,” Vittinghus tweeted, which included a funny meme.

Besides Vittinghus, Viktor Axelsen, who appeared as the first single and beat Anthony Sinisuka Ginting, also gave greetings to the Indonesian team from social media.

“Congratulations Indonesia. Formidable opponent. See you next time,” wrote Axelsen.

Denmark must bury the dream of winning the title of Thomas Cup champion in their own country. Axelsen opened Denmark’s hopes of advancing to the final after winning over Ginting.

After that, the Indonesian players were able to reduce the representatives of Denmark. Marcus Fernaldi Gideon/Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo, Jonatan Christie, and Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto did their job well and contributed points that brought Indonesia to the final.
