There was a change in the Cowboys offensive unit
With the possibility of confirming that Tyron Smith (doubtful) will be available for week six, Dallas Cowboys fired backup offensive tackle Brandon Knight, announced the team on Saturday.
The Cowboys added fullback Nick Ralston and tight end Jeremy Sprinkle to the 53-man roster.
Hired as a free agent after the 2019 draft, Knight played in 21 games for Dallas. He started nine games last year due to multiple offensive line injuries, affecting Smith and right tackle La’el Collins.

Smith is expected to play against the Patriots
The seven-time pro-bowler gave the Cowboys (and their fans) a big scare Thursday and had to have an MRI after a neck problem. Smith, 30, only played two games in 2020 due to a pinched nerve in his neck that required corrective surgery.

The medical exam, done as a precaution, had “favorable” results, McCarthy revealed, paving the way for Smith to start the road game against the Patriots. Cowboys owner and general manager Jerry Jones went further and emphatically stated that Smith (and cornerback Trevon Diggs, who has an ankle injury) will be “ready” to play at Foxborough.
