If you want to see spectacle in the Jupiler Pro League, you should watch Club Brugge matches. At least if we are to believe the statistics. So far this season, Club Brugge has created the most big chances in one match on average. STVV is best to keep things closed in the back.
InStat kept a record of every Jupiler Pro League club’s CIES how many big chances it created and how many big chances it conceded in one match. It did this for the first ten match days of our national competition. A real (played out) scoring opportunity is seen as a great opportunity. A useless kick from the halfway line towards the goal did not make the stats.
Before the match against KV Kortrijk, Club Brugge scored 18 times in the Jupiler Pro League this season. On average, Club Brugge created 10.8 chances per match. No other JPL squad does better. On the podium are KRC Genk (9.0), RSC Anderlecht (8.6) and Sporting Charleroi (8.6).
It will not come as a surprise, but Beerschot created the fewest number of chances on average in the first ten matches of the season. The final of the Jupiler Pro League is on average 4.1 chances per match. That is slightly less good than STVV (4.4). For a moment, remember the statistic of the Canaries.

STVV hardly gives anything away
If we look again at the number of great chances that a team was conceded on average in a match, we see that STVV is the first in the JPL class. STVV itself creates on average only 4.4 big chances per match. It also only concedes 4.4 big chances per match.
KAA Gent (4.7), KRC Genk (4.8) and Union (4.8) also manage to keep their average among the five big chances per match. Zulte Waregem is the last in this statistic. Essevee conceded 10.2 big chances per match on average.
