Carmen Carro, from the Valonsadero Badminton Club, participates in an international competition

The Vocalist Carmen Carro, from the Valonsadero Badminton Club, traveled last Wednesday, together with the rest of the members of the Spanish Under-15 Team and the technical staff, led by the national coach Ernesto García, to the Danish town of Odense to participate in the Victor Denmark U15.

As it is an international event, Carmen Carro will take part in the three events to which she has access: women’s singles, women’s doubles and mixed doubles. In the women’s event, the Soriana will face the Croatian player Ana Pranic and the French Lasis Margaux to reach the final phase of the tournament. As for the female and mixed doubles, she will partner with Iziar Barcala (A Estrada) and Gonzalo Isabal (Huesca) to play against the Polish couple Hanna Stachera and Olga Szwarnowiecka and the Danish Thobias Svej and Thea Sisse Rink respectively.

In addition, the athlete trained by Carlos Palero, will be able to enjoy the Victor Denmark Open 2021, one of the most prestigious tournaments on the world calendar that will take place in parallel to the U15 competition and which will bring together the great figures of this sport, such as the champion of world Kento Momota, the local player Viktor Axelsen, recent Olympic champion in Tokyo, or the well-known rivals of Carolina Marín on the world circuit, Ratchanok Intanon, Akane Yamaguchi or the young Korean An Se Young.

The presence of Carmen Carro in the National Team represents one of the greatest achievements of Soriano badminton in the more than 35 years that this sport has been practiced in our town and is the confirmation of the Valonsadero Badminton Club’s sporting project that was born six seasons ago. Without a doubt, a new and enriching experience for Carmen Carro and a source of pride for her club.
