At BVB, the announcement triggered a moderate earthquake, especially the conversation with the then successful coach Jürgen Klopp was quite spicy for Götze. Klopp is said to have been personally offended, after all, the BVB coach had only paved the way for Götze’s career.

Struth with “stomach ache” when Götze changed from BVB to Bayern

The consultant himself would have had “big stomach aches” at the time of the change. Struth was not sure whether Götze under Guardiola would prevail at Bayern. Ultimately, Götze made 114 competitive games for Munich, scoring 36 goals and preparing 24.

Despite the decent numbers, Götze’s time in Munich was always somehow incomplete, and the player was injured more often. Hence the later return to Dortmund. Götze is now playing for PSV Eindhoven in the Eredivisie.
