The BG Göttingen would like to bring joy to the children in the cancer ward of the University Medical Center Göttingen (UMG) for Christmas.
Göttingen – On the initiative of BG captain Akeem Vargas, the basketball Bundesliga team from southern Lower Saxony is collecting donations in the coming weeks to buy Christmas presents for the sick children in the university clinic.
“As hard as it sounds, for some children it may be the last Christmas they can celebrate. We want to give them and their families a reason to smile, ”says Vargas. “Of course the team does its part and will also donate money. We hope that as many fans and sponsors as possible will take part in the fundraising campaign. “
Vargas was a guest at UMG last week and together with therapist Kyra Druivenga set up the wishes box in which the children can put their wish lists. Veilchen fans and partners have the opportunity to donate money in a box at the upcoming home games against Oldenburg (October 31), Munich (November 21) and Weißenfels (December 11). The box will be set up at the merchandising stand in the arena interior (east side). It is also possible to transfer funds to the following donation account:

Purpose: Christmas campaign
Donors who need a donation receipt can request it by e-mail to [email protected]. If not all of the donated money is needed for the purchase of gifts, the remaining amount will be donated to the UMG, which can use the money to purchase aids for sports therapy or leisure activities for the children, for example.
