Despite the lack of the final stretch of the championships in our country, Aldair Quintana plans to fight and win the League and the Cup with Atlético Nacional. The goalkeeper from Tolima is going throughout this semester where he has had a remarkable performance that has brought him closer to the Colombian National Team.

Atlético Nacional already achieved one of their goals for the semester and that was to reach the final of the 2021 Colombia Cup, where they will be measured against Deportivo Pereira, a surprising rival and in which the purslanes will start as favorites in this series. Aldair is a key piece of the team, although he still needs to mature in decision-making to be a more reliable goalkeeper, the Tolima man works every day to defend with height the largest goal in the country.

Speaking to the official website of Dimayor, Quintana expressed the desire to win the Cup and the League, grow personally and show why he is called up to the Colombian National Team and why not, with his saves to reach international football. His performance places him in first place in the ranking of goalkeepers in the Colombian League with seven games out of 11 with the fence undefeated, 12.2 shots on goal with an average of 0.4 goals every 90 minutes. He also accumulates 990 minutes, 32 saves and 10 clearances.

“A team as big as Nacional always aspires to fight for titles. Now we, who have the option of being alive in the two tournaments that we are playing, are going to fight to win them, ”said Quintana, who has been with the team since mid-2019.

In addition, the goalkeeper wishes to continue his sporting growth and continue in that competition in the Colombian National Team against established names such as David Ospina and Camilo Vargas. “As goals, at a professional level, first I want to achieve championships with this prestigious club, then have the opportunity to play abroad, and finally, I want to continue being part of the National Team and aspire to reach Qatar in 2022.”

Before the final of the Colombia Cup, scheduled for November 11 and 24, starting in Medellín and ending in Pereira, Aldair and his teammates will have a stretch of games in the League, where they continue in the fight for qualification and to preserve the lead in the championship.
