Barahona.- The information was provided by the president of the Association of Basketball from this province, Francisco Vargas (Pachico), during a press conference at Restaurant La Roca in this city. The sports leader said that the teams Cacique Enriquillo, Gregorio Luperon, Juan Pablo Duarte, La Unión, Los Cachorros and Santa Cruz will participate.
Vargas pointed out that the teams have the right to two reinforcements, one U-25 and another free category. He stated that the entrance to the games is 100 pesos, “where we will play Friday and Saturday at 7 at night and on Sundays in doubleheader at 11 in the morning and one in the afternoon.”
The sports leader said that cameras will be installed to guarantee the safety of all the people who come to the Palacio de los Deportes and that a security team of 15 people has been formed. Vargas said that the organizing committee of the tournament will be chaired by the president of the Duartiano Institute and former Constitutional Court Judge, Wilson Gómez.
In addition to the businessman Fredy Vargas, the provincial director of culture Bienvenido Matos Pérez, Esther Carbonel and the lawyer Emilio Reyes Novas.
