SCICLI – Vincenzo Pelligra, 18, of the Judo Club Koizumi Scicli, category 73 Kg, after having won bronze at the European cup for juniors of Udine, was called up for the junior national team, for the next ones European championships, in Luxembourg, from 7 to 12 September.
Vincenzo Pelligra is a son of art. Dad, Maurizio, in fact, he brought the Koizumi Scicli to the leaders of Sicilian and Italian judo and, with Pelligra’s summoning, there are two now the judoki of the Sciclitan society in blue. Beyond him, in fact, there is Savita Russo, cadet category 57 kilos, which it is part of the national team of its category and has already conquered the ninth place in Young Europeans of Riga, Latvia.
Great satisfaction for the master Maurizio Pelligra who, undeterred, transfers his talent and his philosophy of commitment, sweat and seriousness to the boys who tread the tatami of his gym in Scicli which turns out to be among the most prestigious in Italy.
“A very important year for us”, says Maurizio Pelligra who adds: “in just two months two of our athletes have been called up to the national team for the European Judo Championships ”.
These days they are guests of the Koizumi Judo club eight elements of the Maltese national team, with the technical director Denis Braidotti.
