US OPEN 2021 – Raducanu is unplayable and the dream continues in the quarter-finals

Four games conceded in two games… Emma Raducanu’s career is unthinkable given her (very) young age, 18 years old, and her lack of experience, she who participates in Flushing Meadows in her second tournament. Grand Slam after having already dazzled Wimbledon with a round of 16.

In New York, the Briton (150th player in the WTA rankings) raises the level yet another notch by qualifying for the quarter-finals, after having disposed, Monday on the Arthur-Ashe court, of Shelby Rogers in two dry sets ( 6-2, 6-1). The American, however, came out of a success against world number 1 Ashleigh Barty, but Raducanu did not care. She also becomes the third player in history to join the quarterfinals of the US Open after participating in the tournament qualifiers.

A new challenge against Bencic

Much better than her competitor in return and behind her first ball (64% of points gained against 38% for Rogers), the recent finalist of the WTA 125 of Chicago was very realistic at the time of breaker (5/9) and has was able to annihilate almost all the attempts of Shelby Rogers, who could only steal a single throw-in (1/9). However, the Briton had lost her first engagement and was down 2-0 before completely reversing the situation to win 12 of the 13 following games.
