Both judokas made their debut in the U18 age group, which meant that the athletes had to assert themselves against mostly more experienced fighters. In the heavyweight division, Cornelia Schart achieved the decisive victory in the first fight against Sandra Reiber with Tai-otoshi (body throw). The two other fights against higher graded and significantly heavier opponents were just lost, but Conny Schart secured third place through a significantly better undervaluation. Emily Beidin had to deal with five fighters from Großhadern, Münchberg and Teisendorf up to 48 kg. As always, she went into her struggles with focus and determination. Against Nina Honig (TSV Teisendorf) she was able to quickly prevail with Ko-uchi-maki-komi (self-fall technique). The Sulzbacherin also managed the decisive throw against the local hero Anastasia Böhm. For the narrow defeats against Vanessa Garetzki, Mai Lan Ngyuen, both from TSV Großhadern and Münchberger Festime Sejdiu, the bronze medal was more than a consolation. Both judo girls represent the colors of the ducal city at the South German individual championships in Kirchberg / Murr.
