Verbandsliga – FT Fulda Blackhorses win the top game

Kassel (oz / pf) – On the sixth game day of the season, the FT Fulda Blackhorses defeated Herkules Kassel 13: 3 in a hard-fought game and remain unbeaten in the Northern Baseball League.

In the duel between the two top teams, it should be the hard-fought game that was expected from both sides. Both pitchers (Daniel Gallus for Fulda) eliminated the offensive efforts, supported by a faultless defense, until the fifth inning. The game remained even, so that Fulda went into the sixth of nine innings with a narrow deficit of 1: 2.

In the sixth inning Fulda was able to take the lead again with 3: 2 and veteran Jürgen Schmidt made his pitching debut in the Fulda jersey. With three quick outs he held himself harmless and the offensive of the Blackhorses began to awaken. So the lead was extended to 7: 3 until the eighth inning. In the last part of the game the knot finally burst and supported by a lack of concentration in the home side’s defense, six points were scored to make it 13: 3. In the meantime, Karol Travieso had taken over on the mound and pitched the game to the end with confidence.

Head of department Robert Posavec was satisfied with the game and the team’s performance: “We played a good game and deserved to win. Now it is important not to let up and keep playing with concentration. ”
