BarcelonaThe Generalitat approved through the Procicat the extension of the bulk of the restrictions for coronavirus. In a statement, the Catalan government specified that the new measures will enter into force this Thursday and will be valid for eight days. In facilities or equipment with a capacity of more than 10,000 people, the maximum authorized capacity goes from 40% to 60% in sectored groups of up to 6,000 people, and from 30% to 40% if they are closed spaces, with groups of a maximum of 1,750 people. In sports facilities and equipment in enclosed spaces, the maximum capacity of 70% is maintained, but the maximum number of attendees goes from 1,000 to 1,750 people. Besides, in those installations that fulfill the conditions of ventilation and quality of the air reinforced and guarantee measures of control of agglomerations, the maximum number of assistants goes of 3.000 to 3,500 people, with groups sectorizados of a maximum of 1,750 people and respecting 70% of capacity.
The new restrictions will come into force on Thursday and, therefore, the first match of the Santander football league that will be affected will be the one that Espanyol will play on Sunday against Real Madrid, where there may be up to 23,700 spectators. The white-and-blue club reminded that all members who have renewed their season ticket will be able to enter the RCDE Stadium. On the other hand, the entity put on sale a package of tickets in the area of Presidential, Corporate and Presidential Grandstand, as in these sectors does not exceed the maximum capacity provided. The member, as usual, will be able to buy a maximum of two tickets in these areas with a 10% discount. On this occasion, tickets for children under five or in any other area of the stadium will not be on sale.
Girona will also be able to expand their capacity in Montilivi for Monday’s match against Almeria. Catalan basketball teams are studying how the new regulations affect them. Barça, for example, open the Euroleague on Friday at the Palau Blaugrana against Alba in Berlin. Baxi Manresa, meanwhile, host Baskonia in the Nou Congost on Sunday in a match corresponding to the Endesa League.
