The players of the European Solheim Cup team

Captain Catriona Matthew will be able to rely on five players present in the team that triumphed at Gleneagles in 2019. Four rookies will try to make their contribution in this edition which will take place at the Inverness Club in Toledo in Ohio.

Nanna Koerstz Madsen

At 26, the Dane will discover this fabulous event. If she hasn’t won on the LPGA since 2018, Nanna Koerstz Madsen has signed three top 15s in major this year, including a victory that narrowly escaped her at the AIG Women’s Open in the 72nd and final round of the tournament.

Leona Maguire

Leona Maguire will also be the first representative in the history of her country to participate in the Solheim Cup. The Irishwoman continues to progress with 6 tops 10 this season on the LPGA. Emily Kristine Pedersen will have revenge to take on his first participation in 2017 and his three defeats. The Dane created a sensation by winning the last three tournaments of the 2020 LET season. Most recently, she finished fifth at the Olympics.

Sophia Popov

The Englishwoman is back in the Solheim Cup after four years of absence. The one who won six titles on the LET between 2010 and 2017 notched her first victory on the American tour last October. In 2017, Mel Reid missed out on his Solheim Cup by scoring just 0.5 points in four games. It is one of the captain’s choices.

Madelene Sagstrom

As Mel Reid Where Celine Boutier, Madelene Sagstrom was selected by the captain to go to Toledo. The Swede remains in a very good second place at the British Open. The one who participated in the 2017 edition of the Solheim Cut had not signed a top 10 since December.
