At least eight members of the Saints, six offensive coaches, a player and a nutritionist, are infected with COVID-19 and already pose a serious challenge to the biosafety protocols of the NFL and the organization of the New Orleans team.

The Saints get ready to play this Sunday against the Carolina Panthers.

If they are asymptomatic, vaccinated players and staff may return when they give two negative results 24 hours apart, per National Football League (NFL) protocols.

Unvaccinated players and staff who test positive must be isolated for at least 10 days.

The Saints will release their first training participation report for Sunday’s game on Wednesday.

The coaching staff headed by coach Sean Payton and all the players are vaccinated.

The Saints ‘second game will take place this Sunday at the Panthers’ home, Bank of America Stadium, in Charlotte.

The New Orleans debuted with a 38-3 sweep of the Green Bay Packers.
