Ten Hag sees Ajax competition: “They have to fight it out together”

Erik ten Hag thinks that Ajax can act as number ten more often with Steven Berghuis. The attacker was there for the first time against PEC Zwolle. Not everything went well, but Ten Hag has seen positive things.

“Some situations were good, for example with the goal. In the attacking game he had good moments and also defensively, but sometimes it was also a search. He has to get used to that. He plays there for us for the first time and the ten position is a bit different here than at his other clubs. That has to grow, but I think we can certainly continue with it,” Ten Hag told NOS .

Ten Hag can also still have David Neres, who normally plays on the right. But it can also be used in other positions. “It’s not all that fixed with us. The right attacker is sometimes also on ten and the ten in the striker.”

“We have a lot of position changes. Neres can also play very well on the left. We have options, they just have to fight it out together, we have a lot of games. We need them all.”
