Silvio Heinevetter is kidding tennis star Alexander Zverev

Both have already shone on the international stage: Silvio Heinevetter in the national handball team and Alexander Zverev on the tennis court. Now they dueled in “Schlag den Star”.

Alexander Zverev has suffered a defeat off the tennis court. The 24-year-old Olympic champion was defeated by the national handball player Silvio Heinevetter in the ProSieben show “Schlag den Star”. After more than five hours of broadcasting time and 13 of a possible 15 games, the 36-year-old was able to celebrate his superior victory in the confetti rain early on Sunday morning.

In the decisive game, Heinevetter was able to memorize the position of certain objects on a screen better and won with a total of 73:18 points. Previously, Zverev had fended off his opponent’s first match point when he reacted faster to light signals in a close duel and pressed the corresponding buzzer.

“What kind of car does he have in Monaco?”

In one game, however, the handball national player made fun of his opponent. In the game with the name “trunk”, the two sports stars had to transport objects from A to B by car until all parts were at their destination. Zverev led confidently – then his car suddenly went on strike. Moderator Elton came to the rescue and explained the circuit: “Slowly let the coupling come …”. Commentator Ron Ringguth also joked: “What kind of car does he have in Monaco? Does it only drive an automatic or what?”

The tennis star was so annoyed that he gave up and then said: “I forgot the handbrake.” Thereupon Heinevetter could not resist a comment, countered: “His problem is, he always plays with the handbrake on.”

“Was more nervous before Olympic medal”

About the performance of Alexander Zverev, a user wrote on Twitter: “Zverev really seems to have only played tennis so far …”, another user wrote: “Silvio impressed me.”

Overall, however, the gold medalist at the Tokyo Summer Games was only able to win three games. “If I can be honest, I was a little more nervous before the Olympic medal,” said Zverev at the beginning of the program. “But that’s number two for me by a long way. I’ll give it my all for the next seven hours.”

In the audience, Mischa Zverev supported his younger brother: “Today he has to be better than the US Open and the Olympic Games. I prepared him,” said the 34-year-old. However, the 100,000 euros for the victory went to Heinevetter.
